Etheraction
Etheraction is a multi-channel electroacoustic piece composed with synthesis sounds created with the Scanned Synthesis and the Filtering string. Two devices have been created to play the piece in real time. These devices are based on the use of graphical interfaces and enable to control both synthesis and sound spatialisation.
Graphical interfaces have been created with Jitter. The synthesis algorithms and the mapping have been implemented in Max/MSP.
The first device is dedicated to the control of a "sound creature" moving into the auditory space materialized by the multi-channel system of speakers. It enables to control the moves of the creature within space (sound spatialisation) as well as the pitch evolutions of the sound creature. This device is multitouch : several pointers can be handled at the same time on a same screen.

Second device is dedicated to handle several sound processes that evolve all along the piece ; it makes use of physical models of strings to control a sound synthesis algorithm similar to the filtering string model.
Three windows are used and correspond to the three parts of the piece. In every parts, strings are moved by forces directly controlled with the multitouch surface.
